It has come to my attention that I have not entered anything in here since… November.
Well, it’s time to kick off another year of political blogging (or… Complaining?)
Politically, what will 2015 bring? Dissapointment. Bitter dissapointment.
The tone of this year was set, I think, with the House of Represenatives vote to re-elect Boehner as speaker of the house.
It was really quite something to see/hear – a bunch of elected represenatives, squirming, trying to justify mediocrity. Our own Steve Russell and Markwayne Mullin proved to be quite a dissapointment when they gave into the powers that be.
Quite absurd! Essentially the same mindset that the voters have. “Oh, well, he dosen’t have the chance, does not have the votes, so I can’t support him, it would be a wasted vote!” Why are people so afraid to be part of a loosing team? I have stressed again and again that there is no such thing as a wasted vote when voting UPON PRINCIPLE.
As if that was not enough to set this tone of dissapointment. Jeb Bush, the darling of the establishment, has launched a PAC with the goal of getting him into the White House. If he wins, dissapointment – he’s another Bush – if he looses, dissapointment – Hillary will win.
Last November voters have done what they have been doing for a century or more – choosing the lesser of the two evils. Why should voters expect a different result now? The next year, unless something incredible happens (unlikely) will be a year of bitter dissapointment for us all, and may just hand the left the White House in 2016.
So… happy new year, I guess.
Seriously though, politics isn’t everything. I do wish all of my readers a blessed and happy new year!
